Prudent Prepping: Buffet Post

The dust has settled and the First 72 Hours have passed. Now we concentrate  on what to do in, and how to plan for, the long term via Prudent Prepping.

Prudent Prepping
 Buffet Post

Here are several topics that continue to need attention and work on my part, but which don't need another complete post here on Blue Collar Prepping.

Recap and Wrap-up
  • From the Group Buy of WAPI mentioned here, we are approximately 40 short of the needed 100 to make an order. The price available to the group is over $2 LESS* than can be found elsewhere. This is the perfect item to add to your prepping gear and is a great addition for camping groups, Scouts of all types, church groups and for donating to people doing overseas  mission work.
  • I worked over one of my Uncle Bill's Tweezers with mixed results. The edge of the angled portion is now smoother and the point is now sharper, and the underside beveling mentioned here did seem to help the ability to remove splinters, just not as much as I remember... which may be a function of my memories (Quiet in the back!) of a long gone item lost 5 years ago. Several more are to be ordered for birthdays that are coming over the next few months.
  • The moth problem in my closet seems to be under control, with a steady capture of 1-2 moths a week. I was told to expect a big up-tick in the numbers as the weather warmed up, but it hasn't happened yet. I re-ordered another set of traps, just in case I need them sooner, rather than later.
  • The freeze dried food items are being put on hold for the time being. My budget does not allow purchases of more than samples for a new set of taste tests (coming soon).
  • Three more bags of rice pasta mentioned here were purchased to round out the five 5-gallon pails set up as as 72 hour supplies for 2-4 people. More of this type of pasta will be added to my preps as some of the regular wheat based bags get close to their 'Best By' dates.
  • Anyone interested in writing an article for this blog, please read about the 2nd Annual BCP Writing Contest! Prizes can be won! Fame can be had! Gain world wide exposure to you and your article**!
As an interesting side note, when items are  purchased by clicking on a link embedded in one of these posts, a small percentage of the price is earned by this blog, with no change in your actual cost. Amazon shares what they make back to us!
If you have comments, suggestions or corrections, please post them so we all can learn. And remember, Some Is Always Better Than None!

*$2 less when ordering 5 or more.
** Worldwide exposure and fame not guaranteed.

NOTE: All items tested were purchased by me. No products have been loaned in exchange for a favorable review. Any items sent to me for T&E will be listed as such. Suck it Feds.
